Swimming Lessons

We had swimming lessons this morning at Aquatic Zone in Corona. This is a great INDOOR facility that offers small class swim lessons for all ages. Hailey's Frog class was with three other kids (2 of which are her good friends). I had to swim with Haiden in his Water Babies class. Since my friend did not have to swim with her kids she was able to take pictures for me. Thanks Amber!

Potty Training: Day One

The first thing on my list to do this summer is potty train Haiden. Today went very well, but I am not sure if it is going to get better or worse in the days to come. Although he only had one accident (during breakfast), he was completely unaware that he had successfully used the potty until I pointed it out. We spent A LOT of time in the bathroom. I set the timer for 15 minutes and then let him play (in the kitchen). When the timer went off we ran to the bathroom and then sat in there waiting for something to happen. It was a very long day!!!!!
The very proud owner of Cars, Thomas, & Diego "big boy underwear!"
At first the idea of trucks and M&M's sounded great.
Then it got a little boring and mommy had to get creative. We did a lot of singing and reading. It was like our own little preschool on the potty. :)
At one point Haiden and I passed the time by showing him pictures on the camera.
These are the rewards he got every time he used the potty. He also got M&M's, which he seemed to prefer over the trucks.

Hailey had to get herself into at least one picture. She was a huge help today. There were a few times that she sat in there with him so I could get things done around the house.

You Have To See This

I just watched this on another blog and had to share it with you. Our family LOVES Chick-fil-A! We eat there every Tuesday because the kids are free. We have a very hard time if something else is planned on a Tuesday and it keeps us from eating there. It is good to know we are not the only people in love with Chick-fil-A.

Free Car Wash

If I had known that a free car wash would be as exciting as Pirates of the Caribbean I could have saved the money we spent on Deluxe Disneyland passes! I found a coupon for a free exterior wash at Car Spa when I was cleaning out the inside of the car. Since my car had about 1,000 dead bugs stuck to it we decided it was time for a wash. The last time we drove through Haiden was hysterically funny. He had wide eyes and kept saying, "Oh no!" Today was no exception, and he even compared it to his beloved "pirate ride." He told us it was scary like the pirate ride, and then asked if we could do it again. I wish we would've had a camera (it was too dark for the cell phone camera) or my flip camcorder. I think we will go back in a week with the camera and hope that he reacts the same way again!

I Love Disneyland!

We went to Disneyland today with good friend of mine and her boys. It was such a relaxing day (if that makes sense)! It wasn't too crowded and we didn't have an agenda, we just did whatever the kids felt like. Haiden just chilled in the stroller, and since my kindergarten daughter was doing her best to impress my friend's 4th grade son, she was an angel!!!

I am really excited to see what else this summer holds since I decided we should spend the first day of summer break at Disneyland. Here is a list of our things to do so far...potty train Haiden, play outside, swimming lessons, gymnastics, MyGym, Discovery Science Center, San Diego, Sea World, staying up late, and sleeping in! I really hope it doesn't go too fast. Too bad Tivo can't pause our life the same way it pauses live television.

My Baby Is Growing Up!

Well, today was Hailey's last day at Preschool. I guess she is officially in Kindergarten. She is very sad to be leaving Miss Patty and Miss April after two wonderful years. However, she is extremely excited about going to Grandma's school in August. In the meantime, the three of us will enjoy our summer break together.

Here Comes Summer!

Summer break is so close I can taste it, and boy do I need a break. This has been a tough year for me at work. There is officially one day left with students and then one day to finish cleaning my classroom. I am definitely looking forward to a new classroom and subject next year!

We went to the beach this weekend and it was beautiful. Hailey watched people fish off the pier and Sean made sure to hold on to Haiden's hand as tight as he could. Haiden kept saying that he wanted to jump in and go swimming. This is completely different from the absolute fear of water Hailey had at this age.
