Haiden's First Day of School

Haiden's First Day of School was today. He started preschool in August, but that was just summer school. Today was actual school.

He was all decked out with his Buzz Lightyear backpack and lunchbox.

Haiden found his cubby when we got into his new classroom. He loves his teachers Miss Lee & Miss Pam. I am excited because he came home today knowing how to spell RED. He sang a little song about it, and then told me that red is spelled R-E-D. :)

The Bridge From Daisy To Brownie

Hailey bridged from Daisy to Brownie Girl Scout on Friday.

This finished her second year as a Daisy Girl Scout.

Hailey had a lot of fun and earned many patches.

It feels good to know that Hailey has a close group of friends she can share these experiences with. All of the girls in the troop come from great families. I look forward to them continuing together and creating even more memories.

GOLD!

My dad found gold in the creek behind the cabin. We brought the kids up a few weeks ago so they could go panning with Grandpa.
Haiden looks very interested and amazed by what Grandpa is talking about. GOOD BOY!

Leave it to Grandma and Hailey to quickly get bored and wander off.

I think Sean was looking for a piece big enough to sell...no luck!

Such a cute little butt crack! Don't worry, it is Haiden.

Haiden's socks and pants got wet so he had to use snow pants and gloves. Good thing Grandma has a washer and dryer at the cabin.

Bike Ride at the Park

We went to the park last night for a little bike ride.

Hailey got a nosebleed as we were leaving so she insisted on leaving the tissue in her nose at the park.

Haiden's legs are still a little too short for his big wheel, so he found other things to entertain himself. He chased his sister, pushed his big wheel in a circle, and (above) acted like a chicken.

There are light poles and benches lining the curved path at our park. Hailey always gets VERY close to both of them while she is riding. Today she seemed really comfortable on her bike. She was going extremely fast and was staying on the grass. That all changed when she rode directly into the pole. The picture above shows the damage to the pole. Hailey will probably have a bruise from the handlebars, but at least she did get back on and ride a few more times.

LA Zoo

Hailey's Girl Scout troop went to the LA Zoo to complete the patch program today. The tour was "for girl's only" so Kristi and I took the boys on their own tour.

Haiden loved looking at all he animals.

I found Hailey's "Zoo Haiku" along with a ladybug drawing in her backpack. This must have been one of their activities from today. It is very cute.
I like Laedeybugs. (5 syllables)
Laedeybugs have black dots to. (7 syllables)
I love famuleys. (5 syllables)

Girl Scout P.J. Party

Hailey and I had a wonderful time at her Girl Scout P.J. Party on Friday.

We started at the nail station.

Then we went to hair and face painting.

After learning a dance, Hailey made a cute little pillow.

Just before the fashion show we had adorable (and yummy) cupcakes.

Hailey fell asleep on the way home from the party. She was exhausted after all that excitement!

Teacher Appreciation Week Day 3

Swimming Lessons

We started swimming lessons again yesterday.

Hailey needs to learn so she does not have to wear a vest and get horrible tan lines. She WILL NOT take off the vest because she wants to be safe (girl after my own heart).

Haiden, on the other hand, needs to learn how to swim because he thinks he already can. Case in point, he stepped off the ledge and went under during the first few minutes of class yesterday. He is a daredevil and I am paranoid (not a good combination)!

Teacher Appreciation Week Day 1

Watering The Grass?

I looked out the window and saw Sean watering the grass...very nice. Then I looked a little closer and saw that the grass is not the only thing he was watering!

Do they grow if you water then often?

Haiden thought it was great.

Hailey thought this would count as her shower...wrong.

I let Sean deal with cleaning them up.

My Little Ladies Man

Haiden's babysitter was able to capture this adorable picture last week. This little girl is the love of Haiden's life. I guess they watched TV like this for a long time. SO CUTE!

Fortunately for Haiden, his best friend is at the babysitter the first half of the week and his best girl is there at the end of the week. He never has to decide between the two of them. Too bad it won't be that way forever! Wait...I can't think about that right now. I want to freeze time and keep Haiden right where he is. I am not ready to even think about the concept of a teenage Haiden and girlfriends!!!!

Earth Day

(I know this is late...sorry.)

HAPPY EARTH DAY!

Hailey brought her Fancy Nancy Earth Day book to school for her teacher to read to the class. She loves to find ways to make EVERY DAY EARTH DAY.

Haiden was not awake when I took this picture. His shirt gives you a 3-step plan for saving a forest.
1. Plant a tree
2. Hug a tree
3. Repeat steps 1-2

Dance Dance Daisy

Hailey had a Girl Scout event today. A Junior troop from the area hosted "Dance Dance Daisy" at the studio where Hailey does gymnastics.

I was very proud of her today. She was the only girl from her troop that attended, so they put her with another troop. Hailey quickly made some new friends and had a great time.

Hailey made a skirt, a necklace, learned a dance, and walked the catwalk. She got a giant bag of candy and a patch when it was over. She is one happy daisy!
