Pumpkin Carving Fun

We (Sean) carved pumpkins tonight.

The kids think pumpkin guts are yucky.

These are fake bites!

Hailey and Haiden have Mr. Potato Head parts for their pumpkins.

Haiden picked the smallest pumpkin at the patch, so these are the only parts that fit.

Hailey's princess pumpkin.

Sean loves to carve pumpkins. This year was a tribute to "Nightmare Before Christmas."

Spooky Jack!

Little Artist

Hailey had to draw each member of her family on one of her homework pages this week. I think it looks pretty good for a kindergartener. I love the two yellow bows in my hair (and the necks)!

Pumpkin Patch

This was a very successful trip to the pumpkin patch! I am excited about that because Haiden broke his ankle at the pumpkin patch last year. We played it safe and did not let Haiden go on the slide. After some fun on the many inflatable attractions, we each picked out a pumpkin and went to dinner.

Hailey had fun in the giant bouncing pumpkin.

Haiden enjoyed the toddler bounce island.

My cute little pumpkins!

Quietly coloring at Islands before dinner. This is so rare...I had to capture it!

Limo Lunch

Hailey was very excited to earn a Limo Lunch from her fall fundraiser at school. On Thursday, a limo took her and other kids from school the Chuck E. Cheese's for lunch. This was a day of firsts for Hailey. It was her first time in a limo and (sadly) her first time to Chuck E. Cheese's. She had a great time!

Halloween Round 1

We had a great time at Mickey's Trick-Or-Treat Party at California Adventure Wednesday night. I am sure my kids will be zombies on Thursday, but it was worth it. Our family dressed as Wendy, Captain Hook, Tinkerbell, and Smee from Peter Pan.

Rocket Dancing

Hailey and Haiden love the rocket at Old Navy. Haiden even calls it the "rocket store." Their reward for being good at the store is to dance and listen to the music.

Poor Baby

Haiden did not feel very well yesterday evening. He was very cuddly after his nap, and then puked all over the arm of my couch and the carpet. Unfortunately, it was quite obvious to me that he had a cheeseburger Happy Meal for lunch. We are still not sure what was wrong. He seemed to feel better after we cleaned him up in the downstairs shower. Sean thinks that his unhappy belly might have something to do with the fact that Haiden licked the counter by the drink fountain at McDonald's earlier that day. I almost puked when Sean told me that, so you never know. It did not appear to be the flu, so...
Haiden got a kick out of showering in his clothes.

I Love You Mom

Hailey made me a card while I was gone today. She was very proud of her artwork. I am proud of her too!

Hailey's Little Ears

Today was the big day...Hailey got to change her earings!

She decided to put in her flip-flop earings because they matched the theme of her best friend's birthday party. The first earing was hard to get out, but she did really great. I think she was anticipating that it would be similar to the actual piercing (I posted a video in August). She is very excited to be able to change them everyday to match her outfits.

Everything at the party was great until Hailey's ear started hurting (inside, not the lobe). It hurt her so much she wanted to leave the party! I knew then that the pain must have been really bad. I took her to urgent care where they diagnosed her with an ear infection. Poor baby!

She finally fell asleep when we got home from urgent care. She is on an antibiotic, ear drops, cough syrup, and Motrin. I am just glad this happened on a weekend. She should be as good as new for the babysitter on Monday and school on Tuesday.

The drugs seem to be working. She got up this morning and got herself dressed for church. She was sad to find out that she would not be going to church today.
She cracks me up with the blue pillow. She found it in my closet last year. I told her that it was the pillow that she bought me when I had my surgery three years ago. She has slept with it every night since then.

YOU DID WHAT?

I don't think I have to explain too much with these photos.

Yes, this is Hailey's hair.
No, I did not cut it.

Sean found it in the trash can tonight wadded up in some toilet paper. This is the amount we were able to rescue from the trash (there was more). If she did not have curly hair I might have noticed it sooner. Apparently this happened a few days ago. (You know, I thought her hair looked strange last night.)

Hailey's First School Bus Ride

Hailey had her first field trip of the year. The highlight for her was that she was able to ride on a school bus. Of course, the first two questions she had were, "Why is the bus dirty?" and "Why are there no seat belts?" I was able to answer these questions while sitting next to her on a bus with 60 kindergarteners because I WAS A CHAPERONE!!! This was very exciting for me. Since I teach, I am not able to help out in Hailey's class. I decided to take a personal day so that I could volunteer and meet all of her classmates.

(Not the greatest picture. My sister is much better at the "self-portrait.")

We had a wonderful time at the Lewis Family Playhouse where we say "If You Give A Mouse A Cookie." This series of books is a favorite at our house. The play consisted of two actors who kept everyone (mostly small children) entertained for almost an hour. Their talent was amazing! They were extremely animated and interacted well with the audience. I would love to try to take Haiden to see it before it closes. I recommend it to everyone (young and old).

Some of my family and friends think I wanted to chaperone because I am an overly protective mom (I am getting better), but the real reason I went was to create another wonderful memory with my daughter. Sign me up now as the yearly chaperone for both Hailey and Haiden. This is a memory I definitely won't forget!

TGIF

I can always count on my kids to make me smile!

"Look Mommy, I drink my ice cream. I crazy."

Hailey's certificate and "Reader of the Month" dog tag. She told me that she is going to wear it every day, except on the weekends!
